Wellness and Arts Community Events and Activities Schedule Playas del Coco Costa Rica

We hope you’ll join the wonderful upcoming events in February. The Full Moon Circles with Raquel and Diego have been beautiful experiences with ceremony and sound, and marking each month with these inspiring rituals in community is a joy. We’ll have our second Spiritual Satsang with Vanessa diving deeper into yoga philosophy. The conversation flowed in our first circle creating a real sense of sharing and connection, and we're looking forward to this communal aspect of yoga continuing to grow, feeling the support of the sangha in our practice. There was a great group for the first Journal Circle with Sarah, and they’ll be getting together again this month to explore shadow work, bringing to light what might be buried or obscured within. Oscar is leading another Handpan Immersion Workshop; it sold out last month and everyone enjoyed the experience immensely, so we’re lucky he’s continuing to teach and make this instrument accessible. And finally, to close out the month, we have a special opportunity to learn African Dance, moving the full body with energy and expression. SOUND THERAPY WITH OSCAR CORDERO

These sessions combine acoustic instruments with subtle binaural tones to support the nervous system and guide the brain toward states of calm, focus, and deep rest. The soundscapes designed with care around the resonance and vibration of the handpan, encourage any stress to melt away, the breath to slow, and the mind to clear and still. Generally these sessions are experienced lying down to allow the body to relax entirely, but they may be done seated if needed, finding the most comfortable position to feel supported, safe, and at ease. While these sessions may evoke a release of held emotions, or illicit vivid inner imagery, ultimately they will induce a state of deep restorative rest. Following a therapeutic sound session, people express feeling calm, clear-headed, emotionally balanced, and rejuvenated, some reporting improved sleep, reduced stress, and a stronger sense of inner connection. If you’d like to learn Reiki Energy Healing, whether to use it for yourself, to share with friends and family, or to apply professionally, please reach out. If we can get a group together, we can schedule a Level I training, two 4-hour sessions. We’ll practice sensing energy, cover the principles, precepts, and traditional story, complete the attunement, and practice offering Reiki to ourselves and others. Many people don’t know that Reiki may be applied in other ways beyond healing–once you develop a strong connection with the energy, Reiki can help you find lost items, guide your yoga practice, or support you in moving through stressful situations with ease. For me, finding Reiki changed my life entirely, my perceptions of reality, and my sense of self-empowerment. It’s a part of my everyday life, and I love to share it with others. EXPANDING LOVE FULL MOON CIRCLE

Cacao Ritual · Full Moon Ceremony · Sound Healing
In February we celebrate love, and though often we think of love as something we share with those close to us, our Full Moon Circle will center around expanding our love, both within ourselves and outwardly toward our community. Perhaps the Valentine’s tradition with chocolate has to do with cacao’s unique properties that elicit feelings of love, warmth, connection, expansion, joy, and gratitude; in our cacao ritual we will experience these sensations and open the heart with intention to embody love in our being. Through gentle exercises and conscious dance we will move with presence in the group, expanding and connecting consciously, nurturing a sense of heart-centered unity. We will complete our lunar ritual with candles, then a relaxing sound bath will reverberate with the energies we have generated as we rest in stillness allowing our experiences to integrate. Doors open at 5:30 to welcome our group with a high-vibrational sound-scape. Smudging will be offered to clear our energy fields and move into sacred space, and the ceremony will begin at 6:00.
