are classes taught in english or spanish?
Classes are taught principally in English, but all our yoga instructors can help teach in Spanish, too. For those who speak French, you might enjoy Miranda's classes as she can help with instruction in French as well.
Where can i find the class schedule?
The schedule is always kept up to date on our Classes page, and may be found on our Facebook Page pinned to the top of the post feed and within the Studio Information photo album. It is posted to Instagram at the start of the month, and hard copies are posted on the studio door and within the studio.
How often do you update the class schedule?
We aim to keep the schedule as consistent as possible, but changes may be made at the start of a new month reflecting the demands of the season or changes in instructor availability.
What classes are good for beginners?
Our Yoga Foundations class is designed for beginners and is an excellent place to start for those new to yoga. Also, all the Yin Yoga and Prana Yin classes are good options for beginners providing a gentle way to ease into the practice. Beginners are always welcome at the mixed-level classes, but should keep in mind that they may not be able to do everything. It's okay if you cannot do everything as suggested by the instructor; it is not expected nor required. Instructors will teach to the present group and can help you to modify poses, but please be responsible to respect your own limits and ease off or take rests as needed.
Do i need to reserve my place in class ahead of time?
While we do not make official reservations for classes, we do ask that students confirm attendance ahead of time on the corresponding facebook event to help give instructors an idea of whom to expect. Please make sure to register your client contact info in advance to help us fulfill tax collection requirements. Please arrive for class ready to practice. Yoga classes are capped at fifteen students, first-come, first-serve.
What Do classes Cost?
Our prices include the 13% value added tax paid to the government. We offer a class drop-in rate of $14, and offer monthly passes that provide a better deal the more classes you attend: 4 Classes for $45 ($11.25 per class), 8 Classes for $76 ($9.50 per class), or 12 Classes for $94 ($7.83 per class). Our monthly membership grants unlimited yoga classes for $135 and includes discounts to workshops. Monthly passes and memberships may begin any date of the month and will expire the same date the following month. Monthly passes and memberships may be extended to compensate for any holiday closings, which will be posted in advance. If you cannot afford these prices, please apply to our scholarship program. Thank you!
Do you accept credit cards?
At this time we do not accept credit cards; thank you for understanding. Payments may be made in cash in U.S. Dollars or Costa Rican Colones; the current exchange rate is posted in the studio.
Is there air conditioning in the studio?
There are two air conditioning units in the studio, and while we aim to keep the studio comfortable, we do not keep the studio too cold. Our muscles should stay warm to keep us safe as we practice, and generating heat in the body and expelling toxins through the sweat are an integral part of the yoga. We usually use only the unit at the back of the room, so take a spot near the back if you prefer to stay on the cooler side.
