Join our Full Moon Circle and partake in Cacao Ritual, Ecstatic Dance, and Sound Bath.  Raquel will open the space sharing sacred cacao to center into our hearts, set our intention, and create a coherent container to express ourselves in ecstatic dance, then DJ Datura will set the soundscape for our free-form dance journey.  Ecstatic dance offers an opportunity to move intuitively and tap into the natural joy of dance free from any unwanted elements.  Once the dance winds down, the evening will close with a relaxing sound bath, a time to settle and recalibrate after whatever we may have moved or processed through our dancing.   Please bring water and whatever you need to care for yourself and be comfortable. 

Often we may experience a block or disconnect from our voice, feeling shy or unable to express ourselves fully.  This workshop aims to liberate the voice as a clear channel for authentic expression, reestablishing the connection with our natural sounds, creativity, and emotional articulations.  We will begin with intention, creating a safe and supportive container for exploration together, then start with simple breathing and movement exercises to open the body and energize the diaphragm.  Vladi will guide us through shamanic vocal activations, applying tones, sounds, and intuitive expressions, then we will build the group resonance with call-and-response series to build confidence and connection.  From these playful exercises we will reach a place of freedom with the voice and move into creative improvisation exploring the natural flow of our original sounds.  Finally, we will allow our experience to anchor into our being with time for grounding and reflection.  Participants may experience a deeper sense of connection with the breath, body, voice, creativity, and self-expression;  and may have feelings of freedom, confidence, joy, playfulness, emotional release, or energetic realignment.  No prior experience is necessary; please wear comfortable clothes and bring water.   

The Handpan, or Hang Drum, a modern, melodic percussion instrument, is played with light touch of the hands and fingers.  Known for its resonant, harmonic, and relaxing sound, its note fields are tuned precisely to a specific musical scale. This immersive workshop designed for beginners presents a portal to a unique musical journey.  We will dedicate time to technique for precise touch to achieve clean, resonant tones.  We will practice essential rhythms with simple fundamental patterns to create hypnotic pulsations.  Then we will find our first melody, integrating scale and rhythm to play with confidence a short, graceful song.  Many people consider playing and listening to the Handpan a therapeutic experience.  The way multiple tones sound simultaneously creates a rich, enveloping sonic texture, both pleasing and complex, which captivates our attention promoting meditative relaxation.  Playing the Handpan is an intuitive expression, which allows musicians of all levels to enter easily into states of flow.

Let’s come together at the time of the new moon and align with the energies of cleansing, clarity, recalibration, and renewal.  We will begin with some guided movements to stretch and settle into our bodies so that we may rest comfortably during the sound bath.  We will set up a circle and connect with our intentions for what we’d like to invite in before we lie back, relax, and experience the power of sound and vibration.  Jose will orchestrate the sound bath with ancestral instruments including Tibetan singing bowls, Native American flutes, didgeridoo, shakers, shamanic drums, tubular bars, and more.  As the sound waves wash over us and move through us, we may look inside, release and clear old energies, and recenter ourselves in this safe and restorative environment.  Please wear comfortable clothes, bring a mat or thin mattress to feel comfortable lying on the floor, something to cover your eyes, and a blanket if you wish. Enjoy this unique experience of ancestral medicine in modern times.

We will open the space with a welcoming cacao circle co-facilitated by Diego Mejias and Jose Lopez, to set our intentions and establish a sense of trust in the group. Then after a brief movement warm-up we will immerse ourselves in Ecstatic Dance to a live DJ set by Chakaruna Project. To integrate our experience we will end our evening with a sound healing and closing circle, co-facilitated by Diego Mejias.

To integrate our experience we will end our evening with a sound healing and closing circle, co-facilitated by Jose Rodriguez.
